Confirmation
gifts of the Holy Spirit
Strengthened by the Holy Spirit
Through this Sacrament, the baptized are strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit and called to live their faith more fully.
We accompany our young people and adults as they prepare to receive Confirmation and grow deeper in their relationship with Christ and His Church.
The Meaning of Confirmation
Through Confirmation, we
- Receive a deeper outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
- Strengthen our relationship with Christ.
- Grow in faith and understanding.
- Receive gifts that help us live as faithful Christians.
- Are called to share and witness to our faith.
- Become more actively involved in the life and mission of the Church.
Confirmation Preparation
Preparation helps candidates understand the Sacrament and develop a stronger foundation in Catholic faith and Christian living.
Preparation may include:
- Confirmation classes or catechesis
- Prayer and reflection
- Participation in Mass and parish activities
- Required parish documentation
Sponsors
A Confirmation sponsor supports the candidate in their journey of faith and serves as an example of Christian living. Sponsors are encouraged to help candidates remain connected to Christ and active in the life of the Church.
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses.
